Parks, Trails, and Rueter-Hess Update for January 2025  
No discussion.  
2024 HPB Annual Report  
Lauren Pulver, Planning Supervisor, shared a draft of the 2024 HPB Annual Report. Staff  
added the outreach events from July and additional requested edits from the July 2024  
meeting.  
Board Chair, Chris Schutzenberger, requested the date of funding be added to the  
funding approval for Schweiger Ranch and that the BOCC Town Hall in June be added  
as an outreach event.  
The HPB made additional minor edits to the 2024 Annual Report.  
Currently Staff is waiting for direction from the BOCC on how to proceed and when.  
Board Vice-Chair Mary O'Pry made a motion to approve the Annual Report with the  
edits to submit to the BOCC when requested.

Curator Updates  
Brittany Cassell, Curator, briefed the HPB on current projects and shared photos of the  
work completed on Spring Valley School, Hidden Mesa Chicken Coop, wagon  
conservation, and artifacts received at the repository.  
Project Updates  
-Spring Valley School  
-Hidden Mesa Chicken Coop (window mockup, linseed putty and paint)  
-Wagon conservation (today was first day of the wagon restoration) Parker Water and  
Sanitation District has agreed to share funding with the County. Tribal consultation will  
be involved. Staff hopes to have the project finished in May.  
Repository  
Continue to receive artifacts from Bill Noe (2 crystal point projectiles, and a nutcracker).  
Events  
The Douglas County Library will be having upcoming exhibits on the 1965 Flood and  
Veterans Day. Vice Chair, Mary O’Pry, informed Staff the Sedalia Museum has war  
artifacts and notebooks that may be of interest for the upcoming exhibits.

Other Business and Discussion  
Vice Chair, Mary O’Pry, told the HPB there were glass globe fire extinguishers found in the  
basement of the Sedalia Museum. The items were collected for safety and will be destroyed.
