Highlands Ranch Metro District Fly'n B House Funding Request
Neil Alderson, Director of Recreation and Cultural Programs, Highlands Ranch Metro
District, gave an informational presentation on the Fly’n B house and property not a
funding request as indicated on the agenda. The HPB and presenter had a
question-and-answers session. Items discussed included: ADA compliance for historic
structures, structural integrity of the foundation, potential future uses of the house,
community survey feedback, and partnership opportunities with local organizations.
2026 Historic Preservation Unofficial Meeting Schedule
Board Chair, Chris Schutzenberger, made a motion to approve the HBP 2026 Meeting
Schedule.

Curator Updates
Curator updates were presented by Brittany Cassell, Curator.
Projects discussed included: restoration progress at Evans Homestead and Spring Valley
School, interpretive signage for Columbine Open Space, the exhibit at Parker Water
headquarters, updates to the Miksch Helmer Cabin, grant funding status, and trail
opening timelines.
