Discussion and Action Items  
a.  
Highlands Ranch Metro District Presentation  
Neil Alderson, Director of Recreation and Cultural Programs and Stephanie Stanley,  
General Manager, from Highlands Ranch Metro District (HRCA) presented information  
on Historic Park Project in Highlands Ranch.  
HPB asked questions for clarification and discussed.  
HPB will consider the project funding request and vote at the December meeting.  
Parks, Trails, and Rueter-Hess Update for October 2024  
b.  
Nick Giauque, Parks Program Manager, shared the Parks, Trails, and Rueter-Hess  
update. Staff updated the HPB on current projects and the new fertilizer program.  
Parks has had several parking lots replaced and winter irrigation blowout has been  
completed at all parks.  
There were over 50 volunteer events. Volunteer hours will have updates next month.  
Rueter-Hess had rowboats and pedal pontoon boats for rent this last year.  
2024 Budget Re-Programming  
c.  
Brittany Cassell, Curator, briefed the HPB on the transfer of remaining funds from the  
Columbine Barn and the lightning projects that have been completed. A partial amount  
of the surplus funds remaining will go to the Crull-Hammond cabin.  
The remaining funds will go toward the Parker Water and Sanitation District (PWSD)  
museum for the restoration of the wagon to be displayed at the PWSD main office lobby.  
Board members all agreed this is a great use of the remaining funds from the other  
projects.  
Next year, HPB will have emergency funds for any type of emergencies that may occur in  
2025.  
d.  
Curator Updates  
Brittany Cassell, Curator, updated the HPB on current projects and work taking place at  
the Repository.  
Projects  
• Photos of International Archeology Day (IAD), over 1,000 visitors attended the  
function.  
• Photos of Evans (Completed Phase I, Phase II will start soon)  
• Photos of Columbine Open Space (Barn), the windows and the creamery will be next to  
complete.  
• Spring Valley School kick off Thursday, November 21, 2024.  
• Mikesh Helmer Cabin (MHC) kicked off the contract work after getting the second  
state grant.  
Repository  
Work with Todd:  
• Continue to work on  
Mini Museum at Parker Water Headquarters  
o Fossil conservation work on the two mammoth jaws  
o Wagon conservation Request For Purchase

Other Business and Discussion  
a.  
Annual Report Update  
Lauren Pulver, Planning Supervisor, gave an update on the status of the Annual Report.  
Staff will be formatting and preparing the report for presentation to the Board of County  
Commissioners (BOCC). The HPB scoring sheets need to be submitted if they have not  
been been submitted. The scoring sheets and written report may be attached as an  
appendix to the report.  
b.  
Sedalia Museum and Gardens Winterfest  
Sedalia Museum and Gardens would like to invite the HPB on December 7, 2024, to the  
Sedalia Museum and Garden’s Winterfest from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  
There will be hayrides, Santa’s workshop, refreshments, as well as and a gift shop with  
donations of new and used items where children can come and purchase a gift that will  
be wrapped for one dollar.
